Check out our new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. We're adding new Q & A all the time.
SKSC is a member-owned, volunteer-operated, non-profit club that provides a friendly and safe environment for nearly every firearms enthusiast.
Notice: The 500m Range is currently closed due to two recent incidents. However, the 500m Range will be open for scheduled matches on that range.
The range remains closed until the issue can be addressed, as started at the Board Meeting held on June 13th, plans are being made / implemented to address any potential issues.
We are not yet finished with the new policy for the 500m range. We are in the process of training Range Safety Officers, and members will only be allowed to shoot on the 500m range under the supervision of the RSO. We are also leaning toward a special class that must be taken BEFORE you or your guests are allowed to use that range. The evidence found on the range over the last year is quite clear, the members using that range do NOT know how to work up and sight-in for the longer distances, and we see evidence that rounds are skipping off the floor of the range. An informal survey also shows that too many members don’t realize that being 1 foot off-target at 200m could be over 5 times that at 500m after taking ballistics into account.
Keep checking back here in the coming
weeks for more details as they become available.

Safety is our #1 priority at SKSC. Each member has an obligation toward the safety of themselves and guests they bring with them as well as others around them. We all watch each others' backs! If an accident happens at our club, it needs to be reported to club leadership by filling out our Incident Report Form and send it to the club via e-mail to email@example.com or U.S. Mail.

SKSC has a new Range Use Policy as of 1-Jan-2016. Please read it at the bottom of our Contacts page here.
The two manual range gates have been replaced with electric gates (similar to the main gate at the etrance). These gates will have a key-pad to enter the 500-meter or 200-meter ranges. Just enter the same combination you entered into the old padlocks. To leave the ranges, simply approach the gates slowly with your vehicle and the gate will open for 20 seconds.
We have improved the road from the the street all the way back to the South range gate. This will really help keep down the dust as well as drain better. Please respect the posted speed limit.
Want to save $40 when you sign up for 2017? Volunteer just 4 hours at one of our Work Days (usually the 4th Saturday of the month from March through September), from around 9:00am to 1:00pm. Work begins at 9 and runs to 1PM. Meet at the club house for work assignments. Bring gloves, rakes, shovels, pruners, hammers, saws, and other types of tools. Work days are scheduled so members can help keep the club maintained. Those who work get work credit towards next years’ dues. You receive $10 per hour worked up to 4 hours. If you can’t make it out to the scheduled work day, but still would like to help, please contact a board member as there are always other projects ongoing that could use your help. Do you have a special talent or access to special materials? Donating either will also give you work credit.
New Ranges, Sharing and Closings:
We're built even more 7-yard bays on the West side of the road, across from our six general purpose bunkers. We are converted the 50/100-yard and special-purpose range to a 35-yard range due to potential safety issues. While the special-purpose ranges will not be available for members on a daily basis, they will allow our members to continue to shoot in the regular bays even during scheduled events. Some special events may still require that ranges, such as the 200-meter, be shared rather than closed. Check the club calendar for ranges that may be closed, or shared before you come out to shoot.
Safety is or #1 priority at SKSC, and all of our members have taken our safety and orientation class. If you see an unsafe condition on any of our ranges, call a cease-fire and work with the other members to correct the issue. The continued operation of our club depends on all of us to cooperate! If you cannot resolve an unsafe condition, please fill out our Range Incident Report and get it to one of our Board of Directors or e-mail it back to firstname.lastname@example.org . If the situation warrants, please call 911 and report the problem immediately.
